It’s been a hectic couple of months with my mind focussed very much on other things in ‘real life’. I’ve been getting back into Second Life again, and I also discovered three sets of photos that never got put up online. So here’s the first set, taken at Black Kite. It’s an interesting place of […]
Gamers and their Avatars
Gamers and their Avatars I haven’t posted for a while as so much else has been crowding in. I’ve done a couple of photography sessions, but need to spend a bit of time working them through. However, I came across this piece in a site I follow for my ‘real life’ photography. It’s two years […]
Ocho Tango and High Pampas Grass
It’s a swift move from cornfields in my last post to pampas in this one. And the grass is certainly tall! Ocho Tango seems to be one of the new ‘talked about’ places, yet it’s not been that busy when I’ve been there. Which is a shame. The stream is tango music, with superb couples […]
Long Wires, Blowing
Long Wires, Blowing, a photo by Tizzy Canucci on Flickr. I found this landmark in my inventory. I think someone must have said “have you been to The Far Away?”, I must have said “no, not yet”, and they then passed me the landmark. My memory then failed! This is a very good example of […]
Two Friends
A simple scene of quiet conversation. Two friends on a bench in Second Life while their real life bodies sit half way around world from each other. Here their minds meet in conversation in a way that only can be achieved through re-embodiment in a virtual world, by sharing the same space, of seeing and […]
Into the Sky at Ascension
I was over at Tales from the Ghost Forest for my last blog post, and decided to take a peek over the hill. And this is what I found. I’d heard of Ascension, and it was somewhere I was intending to go sometime soon. Ascension is an LEA art project SIM by Mantis Oh, and […]
Back to the Country
Going back to the country, to the rural quiet is a recurrent theme in Second Life, as is abandonment and dereliction. At Sand Hills Country there is both within a compact area. I found some of the trees a bit garish, but this central area is nicely set up.
Aspects of Solitude – an exhibition
I managed to get to the opening today of Aspects of Solitude by Amona Savira and Harbor Galaxy. The links are to their photostreams on Flickr. It’s as wonderful as I expected! Well worth a trip over to the Palais Orleans to see it!
You are Not Allowed to Fish
This is Rose Borchovski’s installation now at torno Kohime Foundation – the opening night was last night (17th April), where the photograph was taken. It’s the story of Beth and her grandchild Lot, who are forced to leave their home because of a war. The war came to them in stages, starting with rulings about […]
End of the Line :) BCC
I’ve been busy in rl the last few days, but I picked up on this place and there were a couple of shots I spotted fairly quickly on a visit to 🙂 BCC. I liked the conveniently placed av dancing in the grass, and the minimal lines and colour in the above. The other shot […]
