It attracts comic art illustrators and writers from around the world to run workshops The Lakes International Comic Art Festival is being held for the fourth year in Kendal, a market town in the north west of England. It attracts comic art illustrators and writers from around the world to speak, run workshops and present their work, and there are also films and other events.
Here’s the trailer, just released…
I was involved in it last year because of my job, in particular in the setting up of the Shojo manga exhibition, which went on to The House of Illustration in London. Remember though, you could see this exhibition first at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal – this Festival is bigger than you might imagine. This year, the visual art will be by Ken Niimura. I’ll be doing my job there again, but also volunteering as well. I enjoyed it so much last year I want do more!
The dates are 14-16 October 2016, and tickets go on sale 1 July. Give me a shout if you are coming through and you’d like to meet up.
